Default Sonos Typical Range

How does the wireless range of the Sonos compare to other wireless networks? Can I expect roughly the same performance?

Also I beleive my next question was answered in the "Wireless vs Wired Thread" but I wanted to confirm. The range of the Sonos system is based on the distance to the nearest zone player, rather than the zone player attached to the computer correct?

The typical range is 50-100 feet. You can expect a range similar to that of an 802.11g wireless access point.

That's right. Sonosnet, our wireless mesh network, allows ZonePlayers to relay messages; as long as you can communicate with one ZonePlayer, you can control any ZonePlayer.

Default Any way to extend or maximize range?

About to under go a significant remodel and recently purchased a Z100 bundle. Tonight I was trying to take a zone player out to my pool house figuring I could get tunes and a network connection as my office will be out there during the remodel. Eventually I'll have a Z80 out there and a Couple of Z100's in my master bedroom which is between the pool house and my current base Z100. No luck with the Z100 out there but it's over 130 feet. My new masterbedroom will still be over 100 feet to the pool house but a better shot, less walls to go through. I'm thinking about buying another ZP now and placing it in my garage which would be closer in an attempt to bridge the difference as a temporary measure. Is there another way to get a repeater effect for cheaper? What have people seen for "real" ranges? I'd hate to have to pull a hard wire network connection out there.
Thanks for any help/feedback.

Vince
