+1 for this.
Some quickly accessible buttons to select a source (e.g. a radio station) and ideally also, a zone grouping and volume levels. So with one press you can move the whole house to a common setup. |

Its a very long way to get to radio favorites. It would be very nice, if a radio could be in a Playlist.

DrWhat,
Welcome to the forums. I merged your post with this similar thread. We try to collate Sound Ideas posts as much as possible. One minor point on terminology: by convention "playlists" (e.g. Sonos playlists) contain items which can be queued/started/paused/rewound/etc., including tracks from online services, podcasts and so forth. Being live, a radio station is not something which would fit under the same heading. |

Hi
Before ever getting a Sonos system, I ripped and organized all my CDs into FLAC-files and placed them in artist/album-specific folders, and got used to maneuvering thru my music-files in that way. So now – stuck in my old ways – I seldom use the Artists-, Albums- and Composers-functionality in the Music Menu, but almost exclusively navigate my music via Folders. However this often requires several clicks to drill-down my folder-structure. So it would be absolutely brilliant if I could make a shortcut to a specific folder on the Music Menu, instead of having to click thru: “Music Library > Folders > //Diskstation/music > Albums” This idea could of course be expanded…
I should mention, that I saw some posts regarding this functionality in this forum, however I didn’t see any in the ‘Sound Ideas’-area. Regards Ryan |

Had just thought of this idea the other day and following a search, lo and behold found this thread.
What an amazingly simple idea - add whatever you access regularly, be it radio stations, a new album, artist, genre etc... to the main menu via a shortcuts or favorites button. There's no question that Sonos can be cumbersome to use when you start accessing the same content on a regular basis. There's a lot of scrolling and clicking involved to submenus etc. With such a new feature, this would enable much more personalisation of the system based on each individual. Sadly however, this is exactly the kind of feature development Sonos seems to be ignoring for the last few years, with a preference in adding online access to music to the detriment of GUI development. So won't be holding out much hope! |

Can there be a top level global favorites menu that contains favorites from all the streaming services and radio stations?

Hi
I have a Sonos S5 and using my iPhone as a controller. It's working fine but... There are to many clicks to navigate from music to favorite radio to line-in. Why not make a "favorite/start" menu at the root where you could add you favorite radio stations, favorite playlists, line-in etc. And add a "home" button that will take you to you "favorite/start" menu. That would make a good product even better ;-) Regards Brian Last edited by BrianOverby; Jun 22nd, 2011 at 12:35 AM. Reason: Added description to heading |

My wife wont use the sonos system as it takes too long to navigate to instant music on our iphone/ipad controllers, for example to get a favourite radio station, it requires about 7 clicks.
Could we have a simple user interface option/page with big buttons pre-programmed with macros, shortcuts, radio stations or certain playlists. I love sonos, I wont go back to anything else. It would help if i could get my wife onside! |
