HDMI from the TV can allow for the volume and some other actions to be handled by the TV wand.
My specification would be 2 HDMI and 1 TOSlink employing the following rules. If no source use audio return channel. If no ARC use TOSlink. This could some simple but creative connection options. I guess most broadcast / streamed media will be Dolby ProLogic anyway. |

I came across this article and found it pretty interesting...makes sense too.
Cullen says that audio receivers made sense "before the digital world", when you needed a box for big amps and for switching between a lot of sources. As more entertainment comes over the Net, Cullen says, "We think the notion of switching between physical sources will be seen as quaint. Instead of putting Sonos into receivers, we're going to make receivers unnecessary." http://asia.cnet.com/sonos-av-receiv...d-62210218.htm |

Ok, then what should i do with my PS3- and Xbox-Signal? Or any other media-player? I think every saying like, there is only one way is the false way.
i would love the use of a sonos:av, but i have no clue how it could work. If the sound is not synced to the picture, i can`t use it while playing games. Watching TV will not be that problem, i think. But anyway, when there will be a sonos:av, it must have some kind of "turn-off-low-powerconsumption"-option. This things use a lot of power ![]() Again, i don`t know how, but i need multiple sources and i need the sound synced to the picture. Your the engineers, surprise us!
