Sonos may be being over-sensitive to small interruptions in the stream, or there could be some issue with either the stream itself or your Internet connection. Try listening to RadioNZ on a PC and see if it behaves itself.

Hi Shem

I am located in Ireland and have just tried the station for a while. it works fine and sounds interesting too! I have added it to my favourites to see how it goes over time. I will let you know.

I have a ticket open with sonos support regarding this, and although it has stalled a little there was some good info.
Sonos got in touch with folks at national Radio NZ and found out that the stream is played through a load balancer. They seem to think that it may be not performing in a manner that sonos can cope with, (pc apps normally have longer buffers).

Although I'm still waiting on settings I could change, there is hope from the NZNational side of things as they are working on changing their streaming setup. So the new system may (or may not) work better for us sonos listeners.

I can confirm exactly the same behaviour as NZ bases listener and will welcome any progress reports.

Any progress anyone??

The December software seems to have resolved this issue. I am no longer experiencing drop outs on this station
