Default Revealing sonos diagnostics

Hello,

I'm new to Sonos. It's actually my Dad who wanted this in his house and he is having a few problems with it.

The problem is mainly that every few hours the sound drops for a couple of minutes and then it starts playing again. The progress bar on the desktop controller keeps running though. The sonos is wire connected to a 1 gigabit network and the music is on a good nas, so I don't think the problem is situated in the network.

After getting nothing but the same unuseful mails from the sonos e-mail support and waiting for hours on their phone support without getting anyone on the line, I'd thought I'd look into it myself. (I'm a computer engineer specialized in reverse engineering protocols).

I'd think a good place to start is if I could look into the diagnostic information on the sonos player which we can send using the desktop controller. I'd thought of placing a proxy in between to catch the diagnostic information, but I was hoping some people here could tell me if there is a direct way of viewing the diagnostic information.

Thanks in advance,
Seba

Have you started with the basic http://IPTOPLAYER:1400/support ?

I know that I have seen the actual data that get sent to Sonos when you submit a diagnostic, although I don't remember how or where. Can look into it, I know that there is a lot of information regarding your actual computer setup as well.

Hello,

Thanks,
I tried Iptoplayer/support/ before which gave me a blank xml document, but it seems I needed to drop the trailing slash to get the full xml document.

Thanks, will see if it reveals anything interesting.

You may find http://IPTOPLAYER:1400/support/review rather easier to browse. It also contains the network matrix.

For direct enquiries to a specific node use http://IPTOPLAYER:1400/status
