Default Connect Line In self muting

I notice the Line In on my connect mutes itself after not receiving sound for a while, I find this interesting because I figured it would stay active based on a bridging impedance at the input, not at the presence of signal.

Regardless, one can see how this makes the first 2 or 3 seconds of any show quiet, or the fact that my AppleTV's "beeps" won't wake it up. Is there any way of changing the behaviour of this?

Have you configured Line-In AutoPlay into your Connect unit?

If it's configured for AutoPlay and AutoPlay commenced on detection of a signal, then when the signal ceases it will auto-stop play.

If you use a controller to ask the Connect to play Line-In then it will keep doing so even in the absence of a signal.

[BTW, the Connect detects the presence of a Line-In connection via a simple electro-mechanical switch, not by sensing impedance.]

Interesting, I have never seen an RCA switch.

Thanks for the reply, I have taken Auto Play off. =)

Yeah, 2 conductors but 3 contacts, e.g. media.digikey.com/photos/Keystone%20Elect%20Photos/971.JPG

The reason you might not notice is that the cheaper non-switched connectors will *also* have 3 solder tabs. Two of them are both connected to the shield, but one on either side used for mounting stability, e.g. media.digikey.com/photos/CUI%20Photos/RCJ-017-SMT.JPG
