During an incoming call a volume screen could pop up. This screen has all the volume levels on it. There could be a "mute all" option or you could mute individual zones.

Default Landline

I would love to see the option above but also extend it to include a landline too i.e. landline rings, zones mute {or chirp} to indicate an incoming call, yes this would require a module that could plug in to a phone socket but not technically challenging I would think. I would also like all zones to play a sound when the doorbell is rung but thats for a different day

As someone stated, only muting players in the same room might be possible if you use SonosNet and has a phone which roams seamlessly with the nearest AP (identifying the MAC of the AP would render a hint of which player you are associated with).

However, most android phones doesn't roam that aggressively...
