Tjena Anders,

Thanks for the utility, works flawless and is very fast, 2 favours to ask, can you include a command line execution capability? And also a link to check for newer versions?

Default Not Scanning Sub Directories

I am trying to use the utility and it is not scanning sub directories. I have tried on 2 different Windows 7 machines (one virtual and one physical) that are alleged to support 32 bit VB 6 applications and one virtual Windows XP SP3 machine.

All my files are on a Synology NAS and I am a bit puzzled as to the reason for this behavior. The verbose logs show it skipping to the next artist folder without digging deeper to discover the FLAC files in the album sub folders. If I put a FLAC file on the root it is discovered and added to an M3U file. I have tried every combination of settings with the exact same result.

What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Jeff

Jeff,
I have never tested it on Win 7(or on a virtual machine for that matter) so for that part I can not really say. The security model of Win7 is radically different from XP so try running it as administrator.
Strange characters in file/folder names can produce odd behaviour.
I canīt really say more without looking at some log files.

Sorry for the extremely late reply,
I am guessing that you are thinking of running it as part of an automatic script/batch run?

Default Not Scanning Sub Directories

I found an old XP laptop in my garage and tried it again. I tried using my NAS as a source and I also copied some folders locally and I get the same result. The log shows it discovering the artist folder but it doesn't get into the album folder where the mp3 files are. Hopefully I'm not doing something terribly stupid. :-\

@Jeff:
The log looks ok.
Can you post/pm me your settings(the contents of the ini-file found in the program folder or a screenshot of the running application)?
Is it possible for you to zip together your test folder(I am assuming that you have made a small subset) and upload it to the cloud somewhere and pm me the location so that I can verify it?

I've never used this app, but I note that it appears to choke on a dirname with an & sign. I know from my own experiences that its possible to screw up XML code with & signs, try (temporarily) renaming that directory.

True, some characters are semi-legal when it comes to file names(depending on OS etc) but "&" works on my machines when I test them.
