Post Sonos. 1 and 3. Won't connect.

Hi all. I have a sonos 1 and 3. And the neither will connect this has just started happening and if they do connect they last around 3-4 minutes. And that's it. I feel I have wasted my money on this system. Which is supposed to be the best I am somewhat disgruntled on this and I have tried to reset the whole system now my app on my iphone will not even locate or connect to the sonos so I have put back my 1950's valve radio which works great. Much needed help please

Drayman,

First post! Welcome to the forums.

I'm not sure what you mean by, "unplugged the router connections."

Is this a new SONOS system or an existing system that developed a problem?

Hi thanks for the reply. , I unplugged the Ethernet cable in the router from the hub and the sonos system started working. And it works for no more than 10 mins. And then goes off. It seems it might be the router issue. It is around 3 years old. Or could it be something else. !

It's possible that the local network addresses being handed out by your router are already in use. As a bit of basic troubleshooting I'd suggest you do a complete network restart.

Power everything off -- including router, computers, Sonos and all wireless devices -- then restart in order:
- router
- wired Sonos devices
- wireless Sonos devices
- everything else
Wait for each device to reboot fully before moving to the next.

Drayman,

At the risk of being pedantic, a "hub" will not work with SONOS. "Hubs" are much older technology. A "network switch" would be appropriate as long as it is not listed in the hall of shame.
