Default Telenor (Norwegian ISP) is blocked by Sonos - RESOLVED

this means you cannot access sonos.com if your ISP is Telenor. Also, you will not be able to register your system via sonos.com or the software that came with your system. Sonos is aware of the problem and trying to find a fix.

Thumbs down Why is SONOS not commenting anything on the Telenor issue?

Getting just a bit frustrated over the fact that I cannot use my system because of this.

Well I can actually use it, but I have to operate it via my PC which is quite far from where I listen to music, the reason being that I cannot use my iPhone app before I upgrade and I cannot upgrade before I register, and I cannot register because Sonos has blocked my ISP :-(

Perhaps Sonos can let me borrow a Sonos Control 'till this problem is soved?

Have you tried contacting Telenor?

Customers on a UK ISP were having similar problems reaching *.sonos.com recently and the problem was apparently related to the ISP (or their customer equipment).

If you can access the DNS settings on your router you might try changing the primary/secondary DNS to 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4 (Google).

Default Contact with Telenor

Hi,

I have been in contact with Telenor and they recognise the problem. They say that Sonos (or a Sonos supplier) seem to have blocked an intire IP-serie. This IP-serie needs to be unblocked before Telenor customers again can access the sonos.com-server.

I am not an expert on this, so for all I know they could be wrong and the problem could be something completely different... all I know is that I cannot use my Sonos system the way I want. Any other Telenor customers theat can verify the problem?

I will, however, try your suggestion (DNS) when I get back home from work today :-)

Default Resolved

And all of a sudden it works again. Don't know if this is because the company that hosts Sonos' servers performed an update, but that is what Telenor said their internet provider eventually would do and that that would do the trick.

Anyways - now it works!
