With Sonos version 2.7, the radio functionality was completely overhauled. Sonos now has a leading internet radio solution wit support for show schedule information as well as on-demand archives.
This functionality is no longer maintained by Sonos, but by an external provider, TuneIn. Because internet radio is a rapidly changing landscape devoid of standards, stations working one day can be broken the next day. TuneIn depends on automatic checks as well as on user feedback to detect problems with stations. You might also have suggestions for new stations, show schedules, or know of show podcasts which TuneIn might integrate as an on-demand show ("Recent shows"). If you would like to report problems with an existing station, look the station up on the TuneIn website, and click on it to bring up the details page. You'll see a button stating "Find a mistake? Tell us to fix it". This will bring up a dialog where you can enter your problem with the station. In case you would like to suggest certain updates to the station details, there is a link "update information". This one will bring up a dialog where you can suggest updates to stored information. Your suggestions will be reviewed by TuneIn staff before becoming visible. In case you would like to suggest a new station, again search for it on TuneIn. Sometimes stations are featured on TuneIn, but not on Sonos. This happens when the station doesn't provide a Sonos-compatible stream. In case you know a Sonos compatible stream address, you can enter it via the "update information" link on the station detail page. In case TuneIn has no entry for the station at all, you will get a link stating "Think we are missing something? Let us know". Here you can click the link and state your request, or head to their Contact TuneIn page. Be sure to add a URL to the station homepage. Adding show schedules and podcasts: Write a mail to TuneIn via their contact form. Be sure to include as much information as possible, in any case a URL to the show's schedule or the podcast URL. Also see FAQs 264 and 890.

Avee:
Thank you for the tip! I searched the website for this information, but it didn't come up with the two threads you provided me. Now, just one more question...I downloaded and used SnooperUrl2 and got the stream. The stream plays fine on Sonos, however I don't get any station information like I do with the other Sonos (built-in) radio stations. Yes, I've tried the other streams for the radio station, but none of them display Station or Song information. Is this a common thing when adding URLs or can it be a particular issue with this station's stream? Thanks again, Vintagewine39 |

Thank you, helps me explain to customers what is really going on!
Much appreciated. May I ask why the zp100 was discontinued? The pre out helped alot on our jobs. And have NEVER had any station cut out, like the issues going on now. Thanks for your time! TracyC |

Sonos doesn't discuss their reasoning for changing the product lineup, but we can guess.
The ZP100 was the original ZonePlayer, and for a while, it was the only ZonePlayer. That meant it had to be a jack-of-all-trades, which often results in some degree of compromise. When hooked to an existing amplifier, the on-board amps in the ZP100 become superfluous, so you've paid for something you don't need. Enter the ZP80, which removed the amplifiers, and added digital outputs. When the lineup was refreshed, the two model types -- one amplified, the other not -- remained, and the line-outs on the amplified unit were dropped. At one time, Sonos implied that the ZP100 line outputs and speaker outputs were not designed to be used simultaneously, but I forget where I read that

True, Thanks for the bit of information NoBob.!
I don't like guessing though. Just seems their original design worked great, if our zp100 dies out I will cry! What is worse, getting ahold of lets say pandora to figure out why they also cut out like the radio stations... it's a circle I am tired of running around! Just want straight up answers! Pow wow with everyone would be nice! But will never happen. Threads are helping ALOT so am appreciative of that. Buzz one of the Moderators gave me some very helpful information. So on it goes to solve issues and make SONOS the best! Put an IR sensor in already! ![]() PS: Testing the new SONOS sub! OMGOSH awesome!!!! Any plans for weather proof outdoor setups? )
