Question Using SONOS in different rooms

Hi

First time to the Sonus forum, and I am looking for some advice. I have a customer who in his new home is likely to want a SONOS speaker in at least 5 rooms in his house. The idea he would like is that whatever room he walks into the music streaming playing his IPhone will work on the speaker in the room he is in. The plan is for every speaker to be wired to the network.

Any suggestions on how I can achieve this

DOREK,

First post! Welcome to the forums.

There is no automatic way of implementing this feature because there is no practical way of determining a listener's exact location. Two locations, less than a foot apart could be in different rooms.

SONOS does not directly support wireless streaming from an iPhone, however, one can connect the audio output from an Airport Express to the Line-In of a SONOS player. At that point, using AirPlay, output from the iPhone can play on any combination of SONOS players.

Hi

Thanks for the reply. Would I need an Airport for every speaker, that I will use?

Thanks

No, the Airplay stream can be played on any Sonos player. You cannot have multiple streams, but you can play the single stream anywhere on the system.
