Default Nas

Hello
I have Sonos Play5 with a Bridge all linked up and working lovely however I wanted it to run with my PC turned off So I bought a buffalo NAS device.

My Nas device is now to my PC and works fine.

On Sonos I went into Manage, music library settings, found my NAS device - share - Itunes. first of all via my computer. This did not work so I added it via networks - share - Itunes

I know have it ''added'' 3 ways but it still does not when the computer is turned off.

Any Advice please?

Thanks

Is your NAS device connected to the same router as the Sonos? Sounds like you've connected it to your PC and not the router.

Have a look at the back of the Buffalo and see if there's an Auto Power Mode switch. If so, set it to "MANUAL".

Would it be because I have selected Itunes from my computer and Itunes from my NAS drive?

Which model of Buffalo is it?

Do you have any Buffalo software running all the time on your PC? If you turn off your PC does the Buffalo NAS go into standby?

How did you specify the location on your NAS for the music files? Did you browse for a location or did you type in a \\devicename\sharename\foldername address?

Its a buffalo LS XLB1A
It runs when the comp is off and I copied Itunes into the only folder on it called ''share''
I then selected in add music, my comp, network location, share, Itunes.

If you selected 'my computer' to get to the NAS drive you may have been using a drive letter, which Sonos wouldn't understand.

Choose 'on a networked device' and Sonos should be able to access the NAS at all times.

Thank You

I have the NAS linked with Sonos however it is a bit sluggish/slow and cannot find some songs.
I am even having the problem of not finding songs when my computer is turned on.

Any ideas why?

Thanks Again

Ross
