Question CR200 in black?

Wondered whether anyone has successfully split a CR200 and charging base and painted them black?

Matt black is the chosen colour as the white looks rubbish where I want it.

I looked at previous posts and haven't found anything that says it has been done other than a reference to Crutchfield and they're a) in the US and b) nothing on their site now.

If someone HAS succeeded with this, what paint was used?

Thanks

I have not tried a actual Sonos component, but i would use spray paint and primer that is also being used for RC racing cars.
Take it to your local hobby-shop and ask for their advice.

You can buy plastic dye, looks like normal paint in a spray can but actually impregnates the plastic so does not come off. I did some car wheel trims a few years a go and the paint stayed put.

L3OONY,

I've not painted a CR200 but would recommend you trying black trim paint that is designed for all the plastic components on our cars now. Here in the states it can be purchased from almost any auto parts store but better if you can find auto paint store. The one that I have had particularly good luck with is a brand by the name of Martin-Senour (sold at NAPA stores in the US). Hope this helps.

I wouldn't paint it - probably void the warranty and that you will definitely need at some stage in the future.

Thumbs up Thanks...

Hi all, thanks for the suggestions.

Agree that the warranty might be an issue so think I might just do the base; it sits in the hall next to a stainless steel & black phone and a black play:3 so stands out more from the stand than the controller.

So my next question is has anyone split the charging base before?

Hoping I'll find some screws under the none slip mat on the base but wonder if anyone has done this for real?

Thanks again for the comments thus far and keep them coming...
