"Part of re-launching Napster was moving to a brand new platform for delivering music. This new platform will make Napster faster and more reliable when its complete. We are still in the process of moving all songs and artists over to this new platform. We're working hard to get as many popular songs over as quickly as we can. We're sorry if we haven't replaced your favorites yet. Soon, when we're finished, Napster will have even more songs than it did before the relaunch. However, we do not have any time frame, however I am sure you will be able to listen to your favourites soon." Did Napster confirm to you that the transfer has been completed? |

Yes, after a 15 minute call, they confirmed with their engineers that migration was complete. It's not helped by their poor search engine but the tracks are certainly gone. I know they had them because they formed part of their old Napster (excellent) playlists. I also have a temporary Spotify account and most can now be found on Spotify but I preferred Napster, the automix facility(remember?) was top drawer!

Hmm.. that sounds pretty conclusive. At least it's more specific than the response I received.
I'm very disappointed by the way Rhapsody/Napster has handled the transition, both technically and in terms of customer communications. On Sonos, Napster still has two things going for it compared to the competition: Sonos functionality on the £5 plan and better management of albums in the library. If it wasn't for those I would have cancelled my subscription already. |

I had assumed that the take over of Napster would give access to the Rhapsody library - is this not the case?
There are some glaring omissions from my previous Napster library to what I have now - really disappointed as originally they said everything that was available previously would be available again. |

Rhapsody were lying. Loads of music just appeared in my napster library that has been missing (uplayable) since the migration. So when they said the migration was complete, it wasnt.
There's still a couple of tracks that wont play, but my napster library is now 90% back to where it was before the migration I was just about to cancel too! Still not happy with the whole migration/takeover but it seems to be improving. Tracks streaming without dropouts now too |

Yup - I've seen a distinct increase in available tracks over the last week - however sadly some that were available now aren't - Katie Melua 'The Flood' being one...
