Hi,
bought and installed a Bridge and 2 S5s about 8 months ago. Plugged them in and off we go - no problems. Now this morning I suddenly found having severe network issues - no, or severely slow, disrupted internet - windows unable to create network maps - unable to connect to the network printer etc. By a process of Sherlock Homes like deduction (turning stuff off/on) I have narrowed the problem down to the Sonos bridge. If this is off then everything works fine like yesterday - if on - back to nothing working. I powered the S5s off - and the bridge on - one thing that's noticeable is that the green ethernet activity light goes on practically solidly - even though I'd have though nothing should be happening if no S5s asking for traffic? Anyway - I'd appreciate any assistance in how I can determine the issue Network setup Sonos Bridge plugged into D-Link DIR-615 wifi router (DHCP off) Which in turn is plugged into a D-link DGS 1008D switch Which is in turn plugged into a D-Link DIR 655 Router (wireless disabled, DHCP on) Point is nothing changed between yesterday - working - and today - not working in terms of network setup.... |

Welcome to the forums.
The router hosting your DHCP server may have power-cycled. If no IPs were statically reserved then that could account for some addressing mayhem. Have you attempted a reboot of your network to force new IP leases? In your case you'd need to power down the DIR 655 and everything else on the network which requests an IP. Then power up the DIR 655, followed by the rest. As a matter of interest what's the function of the DIR 655, other than a DHCP server? A switch? |

Hi - thanks
Yes - in the course of figuring out what was causing issues I have powered everything off/on at least once including the kettle The DIR 655 sits in front of my cable modem - so router/firewall - then the switch - the DIR-615 is my wifi router - as the 655 sits in the garage which is behind an external wall which blocks the wifi signal significantly So I hung the bridge off of the 615 - as this is upstairs and gives a good wifi reception throughout the house |

Ah okay. That way around.
So are you basically saying that, with the Bridge wired and the S5s off: - with the Bridge off everything's fine - with the Bridge powered, all hell lets loose? |

Does the Bridge's white LED stop flashing after the boot process would normally be expected to complete (after about 1 min 15 secs)?

Hmm - just plugged it back in to check - and (Shh!) - it's working.
It's been sat in the garage most of today turned off - so maybe it's cooled down/had a chance to rethink it's behaviour? I'll leave it on overnight if it doesn't re-occur I'll put it down the a 'strangey'. I'll update the thread tomorrow with results. Thanks |

OK - it's fine - no issues today so I'm going to presume it had an off day.
Only thing which is different today is that the bridge yesterday felt significantly warmer (and that's not due to the ambient temperature being warmer as it was cold yesterday) Many thanks for your help |
