Favorites / User Configurable Menu

Hi all,

I've had my system for 10 days or so now and love it!!

One thing I would like though is a way of putting my most used menu items together almost like shortcuts. At the moment I need to switch Loudness on or off a lot depending on the source (e.g. Internet radio or ripped music). I seem to have to go through 4 or 5 menu screens to get to this option. It would be nice to have a 'Favorites' menu in the main menu where the user could put items such as this.

Maybe holding down the centre button on the scroll wheel for 2 seconds would bring this menu up??

I agree with jimsmac. My wife (not so technical) and even my 17 year old daughter (fairly technical) complain to me it is to hard to get to what they want. In their case, it is Napster radio stations. A hard key shortcut would be great too, but the main idea should center around allowing any source of music, be it a Napster radio station, and internet radio station, or even something from your own library be available from a folder on the main music page. And while you are at it, get that settings folder out of there...or at least make it hidden where my kids can't mess with it!!

Especially now that in version 2.7, they've buried the radio favorites an extra level down.

Consider the typical factory car radio. Five nice big buttons you can find easily. Sonos should have something like that, probably set up using an interface similar to the alarm clocks.

I agree completely with the above contributions. Reaching my favorite radio stations takes much too many clicks. Also, I have all my classical music in composer-based playlists. It should be possible to access the favorite radio stations and the imported music playlists from the top menu. I would have thought that such a feature would be relatively easy to program.

Another advantage of a flexible menu system would be the ability for those of us outside the US to get rid of the services such as Rhapsody that we may not subscribe to.

To get rid of Rhapsody, just go to the "Set Up Music Services" menu on the desktop controller and remove Rhapsody. Same with anything else you do not use. You can easily add them again later if you choose to subscribe or they become available in your area.

Many thanks. I have done this. However, a user-configurable menu would still be very useful. The latest update has significantly increased the number of clicks needed to reach what I need.

User defined favorites for all scources are required.

Count me in for this.

I would love to add a couple iHeartRadio stations to my favorites. Currently there's a whole lot of clicking and scrolling to get down to iHeartRadio/All Cities/NY/Power 105.1 for example.

I would vote this as much more important than an iPad app or Spotify integration (even though those are important too).

+1 for configurable favorites. The sonos iphone/ipad app could even launch to that screen and have 8/10 'blocks' on the screen much like the windows 7 phone. And we should be able to configure which Pandora/iheartradio/napster/rhapsody channel goes into what block, name them as we wish and set the order in which they appear.
