WBUR is a Boston NPR station. It plays a 10 second intro every time it starts. I've found other stations that do this using a playlist with two entries, one for the intro and one for the stream, but this is something different. The url is:
Code:
http://www.wbur.org/listen/feed/shoutcast.pls Code:
[playlist] File1=http://wbur-sc.streamguys.com:80/ Title1=WBUR, Boston's NPR News Station Length1=-1 NumberOfEntries=1 Version=2 Thanks. |

Yeah annoying that isn't it!
I'm away from my Sonos at the moment so I can't test this for you, however this link works for me in Windows Media Player so it's got a pretty good chance of working in Sonos. mms://wbur-wm.streamguys.com/wburlive? Right click and select Copy Shortcut. Good luck. |

I just wanted to verify that the station above has been playing over my Sonos for the past 15 minutes. It seems as this URL should work well.

I had been listening to a Windows Media stream to avoid the intro, but it stopped working. |

Others may be more knowledgeable than me, but if you ...
1. go to http://www.reciva.com Reciva.com's radio portal and search for your station, and "listen to" with Windows MediaPlayer 10 or 11. 2. then, open the playing stream file and right click "Properties", you may find an alternative stream url without the startup or any embedded flash crud. got me url's to several wonderful local stations so that I could access with Sonos, without enhancements. |
