With the imminent demise of the CR200 (sorry Sonos Control) I suggest that a “new updated CR100” would be a perfect addition to the Sonos hardware range. By update all that I see is needed is perhaps a different colour, updated menu structure and font size.
After all, the development costs have been absorbed by now, the tooling has already been done, it has the hard buttons everyone liked, the CR200s touch screen was not such a great thing after all and it is has a proven track record of years of reliable service. Best of all it was waterproof (OK legally only splash proof) none of the other controller options being offered have this killer feature. |

Rainer,
since you own the Defy, can you confirm it has volume buttons? (I need to replace my old Blackberry anyway..) Cheers, Thomas |

Volume Button on the right side. Fully functional with the android app. No mute button, but this is a feature of a dedicated controller like the CR 100 or 200.

I would enjoy a CR100+, but only if it kept a similar scheme of remembering "state".
As you drill down, return, and jump from function to function, the CR100 had a great sense of where to land. This has moatly been lost in the newer controllers (of any description, but the new desktop controllers brought some of this back) and the return depth is very limited. With the new controllers I am constantly starting over from the top and drilling down again. This was very rare on the CR100. |

I still use the CR100 as my primary controller even though I have the Sonos app on my iPhone and iPad.
The main advantages are multi-fold:
This last point is why I hope my CR100 lasts forever. |

I still have and use a CR100 and I agree it would be great if Sonos could bring out a new controller based on this.
In my opinion Touch Screen is for showing off to friends whereas the old fashioned CR100 is for usability. |

For all lf the coolness ofthe cr200 It was sort of a flop. I have boththe cr100 and 200. Although the 200's touchscreen interface made searching for music easier it missed the bill on ease of use. The cr100 was splash proof! You could use it in the pool, shower, hot tub! I agree cr100+. Also i have an iphone, ipad, cr100,200 and the computer interfaces. By far the new computer interfaces and cr 100-200 are better to me because you dont have to play around with loading and wifi. Also who wants to give up there cell phone ipad etc during a party full of drunk people!
